The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced results are out. Kanishka Mittal has been the topper of the female category with securing 17th position in All India Rank (AIR). She has scored 315 out of 396. This year, 43,204 students have cleared the exam out of which 6,707 are female students. The number of students in this year has gone up to 2,50,000. The number of students eligible for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced has increased this year. The result of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced was declared on October 5, 2020. The results are available on jeeadv.ac.in.

Student’s Opinion

Chirag Falor has secured the first rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. He has also won an award in Bal Shakti Puraskar. But he has chosen to study at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. He sat for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced for the experience. He has already taken admission at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and will continue his studies there. He will be leaving for the USA next year.

Kanishka Mittal has secured 17th position in AIR. She is from Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh. She has secured the highest position in the female category. She has been preparing for getting enrolled in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) from the past 2 years. For her preparation, she had shifted to Kota and took her preparation in Allen Coaching institute.  She has got her inspiration from her brother who has been pursuing B.Tech as well. She has never compared herself with anyone and believed to work hard consistently. She was regular with her daily homework and practice questions, sample papers during the times of her preparation. She secured 98.4 per cent in her Grade 12 and 99 per cent in her Grade 10.The lockdown has been her added advantage and she has been able to prepare better for the JEE Advanced during the lockdown.

Rounak Dalmia has secured 52nd rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. He is from Kantabanji of Balangir district. He has secured 4th position amongst the top 5 candidates in Indian Institutes of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) and is aiming to study in IIT-Kharagpur. His brother, Manthan Dalmia has secured 100 ranks. Their exam centre was Raipur that came under Kharagpur zone.

Another student of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, Vedang Asgaonkar has secured 7th rank in All India Rank (AIR). His formal training started while he was in Grade 11. He is planning to get enrolled in Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-Bombay).He wants to study Computer Science and is keen to do his Masters. He plans to be an entrepreneur in future.

Vaibhav Raj has secured 3rd rank in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advance. He is a son of Senior Scientific Officer in the Ministry of Defense. He has been preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced since 2018. He has won a gold medal in IJSO. Also, he is an NTSE scholar. He had secured 45th rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) (JEE Mains). He dreams to study in Indian Institutes of Technology, Bombay and plans to open a start-up.

R Muhinder Raj has secured 4th position in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. He had secured 100th rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Mains).  He has won a silver medal in ICHO and has secured 5th rank in KVPY. He is also an NTSE scholar. He secured 95.6 per cent in Grade 10 and 97.4 per cent in Grade 12.

Harshvardhan Agarwal has secured 9th Position in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. He had secured 6th position in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Mains). He is keen to study at the Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-Bombay).

This year, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced was conducted by IIT Delhi. The provisional admission key was released on September 29, 2020.

What was new this year?

The number of students who sat for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced had increased to 2,50,000 candidates.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced had also opened an exam centre in San Francisco, USA.

This year, around 1.6 lakh of the candidates had registered for the exam Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced and almost 1.5 lakh of the candidates had appeared. There were 1150 test centres in 222 cities.

This year, due to the pandemic most of the entrance examination has been delayed. This has created a huge confusion amongst the people and the students. The number of centres was increased to maintain social distancing. The staffs and the students had to follow the guidelines to maintain social distancing. Also, it has been expected that some students may have skipped the examination. Due to the lockdown, many students were not being able to afford the transportation facilities. Also, some students had undergone COVID-19 treatment hence; they had to miss their examination. However, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) was conducted successfully.
